Philippine Climate Forum - Gearing Towards Low-carbon and Climate-resilient 2030
Following the success of the 1st Philippine Climate Forum in 2022 which was attended by more than 100 stakeholders in climate finance and sustainability in the country, the IFC, in collaboration with The World Bank and various partner institutions, is organizing the 2nd Philippine Climate Forum on June 5-7, 2024.
This 3-day event aims to accelerate the promotion of green lending and climate investment opportunities in the country and raise awareness on sustainability initiatives across both the private and public sectors.
The forum is part of the IFC's flagship climate program in the Philippines, 30by30 zero Program, which targets to increase climate lending of financial institutions to 30% of their portfolios by 2030, while also aiming to reduce coal exposure to nearly zero and mitigate climate risks. The program also supports the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of the country to scale up climate-related investments and lending.
The opening session and the succeeding plenary sessions on Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, Climate Risk Assessment of the Financial Sector and Greening the MSMEs on the first day, will be the key events where participants will learn from the private and public sector leaders the emerging trends and practices in sustainability and climate financing.
Qamar Saleem, SME Finance Forum Global Head, will be speaking in two panels:
-

-
