Access to finance for SMEs in Central Asia is limited, with commercial banks and other lenders generally viewing SMEs as high-risk borrowers. Consequently, small companies from the region often face high interest rates and collateral requirements that they are unable to meet. This handbook provides an overview of international experience and good practices in credit guarantee schemes.
