This year the African Microfinance Week will be held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from the 1st until the 5th of December. The theme of the conference will focus on:

Accelerating Innovative Rural Finance in Africa

Echoing the United Nations declaration that 2014 is the International Year of Family Farming (IYFF), the African Microfinance Week will be focusing on inclusive finance solutions to address issues such as rural depopulation, food security, climate change and environment protection. The conference will evaluate the progress made by financial assistance initiatives for rural populations on the continent. This event is ideal to brainstorm new approaches to satisfy the needs of entrepreneurs, the young population, woman and farmers.

The African Microfinance Week is a conference organised by the 3 African regional networks AMT, AFMIN and MAIN and by ADA, a non-governmental organisation which has been supported for many years by the Luxembourg Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs.
